“I believed my compassion could restore him and our relationship. … But my compassion was incomplete because it did not include me.”

Brooke Axtell

“I don’t know” are three of the most expansive words one can use. They allow for the Unknown to work through your life uninhibited by the gates, speed bumps and doorways that the mind likes to put in our way.”

An Introduction to Communication, Boundaries and deepening Intimacy

In this world of technology-based intimacy, the art of clear communication is nearly non-existent. Not only are misunderstandings frequent, but there seems to be a marked desire to be heard; totally skipping the step of listening. This breakdown in community began to occur because so much communication is happening through email, text or DM over the last decade. Most recently, there is a strong desire shared by many to bring back authentic communication and create a new culture based on true listening and supportive community. This is the time in our lives to explore different styles of communication, redefine our understanding of boundaries and remember the action of touching through eyes and ears. In this 2.5-hr. workshop we will explore a few key yogic postures that assist in opening the heart and throat. We will discuss and experience the values of body language and energy imperative to communication. We will conclude the experiential part of our time with interactive exercises in sensing others boundaries using light touch and eye contact. There will then be time for questions and discussion. This workshop is intended to begin the process of awakening your spatial to yourself and as a result, others, allowing for richer, more meaningful relationships. **Please wear comfortable clothes, bring a pillow to sit on and a bottle of water to stay hydrated.
